NWBB Veterans Will Now Be PetTech Certified
Northwest Battle Buddies trainers and teams put hundreds of hours into making sure our professionally trained dogs are ready and able to help their Veterans through all types of challenges. Now, we’re adding PetTech certification to our program so that Veterans have additional skills to help their pet in an emergency situation, too.
PetTech is the first international training center exclusively dedicated to dogs and cats. Their training program includes first aid, CPR, and other lifesaving skills that allow humans to provide care for their pets in an emergency. In addition to three types of CPR, this comprehensive training also teaches participants techniques to manage choking and bleeding, dental and senior care, and how to handle emergencies such as poisoning, injuries, insect bites and more.
This vital training is intended for any professional who works with animals but is also appropriate for regular pet owners and anyone else who wants to be able to provide emergency care for pets. Northwest Battle Buddies trainers have completed a 40+ hour course to become qualified to teach PetTech skills to Veterans and others. This pet first aid and CPR training will now be required as part of the extensive Battle Buddies training program, as well as the recertification process.
We are thrilled that our Veterans will now join thousands of PetTech-certified professionals. In the case of certain emergencies, intervention must happen within 12 seconds to save a dog's life. Our Veterans will be qualified to be their Battle Buddies' first responders.
